ive recently picked up an early 2008 core 2 duo 24 inch 3.06 imac. the computer powers up, plays the start chime, goes to a grey screen with apple logo and then the spinning gear comes up. after around 60sec the kernal panic screen comes up saying i need to power down the computer.
Ive tried loading off the install cds, a 10.6 usb drive i made up and with a different hard drive installed but it kernal panics everytime on startup.
safe mode kernal panics, trying to start in verbrose or single user mode kernal panics.
holding the option key allows me to choose the boot device
holding D to start the AHT kernal panics
ram has been removed/reinserted, swaped banks and tried with just 1 board in

after all my testing i beleive its either the logic board or graphics card, what do you guys think? does the attched kp log inicate a graphics card problem?

It's definitely a hardware KP. And you may well be correct in that it could be related to a problem with the logic board. If you've swapped the memory modules for known good ones, and tried booting from a good external hard drive, that doesn't leave much else. If you have a few $$ to spend, take it to Apple and let them run their diagnostics on it. They'll tell you right away if it's the logic board.
