Mac Mini DVD Drive

Whenever I place a DVD into my mother's mac mini it refuses to play the DVD and ejects them. I have tried this with several and the result is the same. Is there anything that can be done? Is there any other information that you need?

Way... way too many specs to list.
Get a cleaner disk. Works a good percentage of the time in my experience.
