I just recently bought a new iMac (Its awesome!), and i used time machine to restore all my original files and settings from my macbook. Now that i am backing up my iMac it made a new folder "iMac Backup" next to my original "Macbook Backup", and I can only look at backups from the date i bought my iMac.
My Question is, can i somehow take all my backups from my macbook and put them in the iMac folder? Will this allow me to look further back in time machine?

No.

Each machine would create it's own folder. You might be able to do selective restores while booted to OS DVD but I have not tried that.

Right click the time machine icon on the dock and select " Browse Other Time Machine Disks " .... that will allow you to access TM backups from other Mac's.
