9800 Pro 128MB for the G5?

I'm seriously thinking about getting a Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5 with 2GB of memory, mainly for Final Cut Pro and other media software like Photoshop and Director.

I was wondering if it's worth paying the extra £229.99 to upgrade from the Radeon 9600 Pro 64MB to the 9800 Pro 128MB for the G5? will there be a performance difference?

Also, what is a fibre channel PCI card?

It'll make things like faster render times and just an overall more responsive program.

If you need access to a RAID server you'll need the PCI card.

Fibre channel is hugely expensive at this point.

Basically it allows you to connect a seperate array of drives, in another piece of hardware, to your machine, with a speed so fast that you most likely won't know it is another machine that houses the drives. Something similiar to what you see here : http://www.apple.com/xserve/raid/. Of course they aren't always that elegant, but you get the idea.

Probably cost prohibitive at this point :)
