video_ts conversion problems

i want to convert video_ts files to .avi. I tried to use handbrake but no matter what .vob, .IFO ect.. I selected handbrake said it was not a valid source. Im guessing maybe handbrake cant do this?
Ive also seen ffmpeg but Im not overly fond of command line only tools, and then there were some converter apps from xilisoft but I cant find any reviews on them.
On windows I used autoGK or DVDfab, anything similar on macs?

I already have toast installed and I found out I could convert video_ts to divx/mpeg4 so nevermind.
