Is Rosetta removed from 10.7? That's the rumour.

With Snow Leopard's dropping of PowerPC processor support, Lion taking that one step further is no real surprise..

I would bet that it would be. Lion will be the second major OS revision that did not run on the PPC chips so its probably time.

Which applications that are currently popular are PPC only? Almost everything is compiled to be Universal anyway. Maybe we can finally get rid of Rosetta?

anyone noticed that the OK button is squarer than the current? GUI change hints?

powerPC apps i use: MTR 2.6.6, AOE II, Starcraft 1 :O, EasyWMA (freeware version), Fallout 1, Jomic, Resknife, Stronghold.

seems a lot of the old games will become redundant, forcing people to stick with Bootcamp for these.

alot of the other stuff has been released as shareware though, so, paying for the Intel update (i.e MTR, EasyWMA etc)

so its good and bad i guess.

You're also not being forced to upgrade. If you need PowerPC stuff, you can always stick with your current OS

I read this comment.

From what I read Lion will not support any 32-bit "Yonah” C2D processors. This is completely expected. What I haven’t been able to get a clarification on is if Lion supports the Macs that were 64-bit architecture, but still had the 32-bit system memory addressing “Merom” processors. IIRC C2D wasn’t full on 64-bit until “Penryn”.

Would this be true? That Apple is killing anything without 64 bit support? And if so what about the Merom cpus? I own one of those and want to know if it's supported. I so hope it is.
