Safari Install

iMac 21" 2.4G 320G HD OS Snow Leopard. Win7 on Dell PC Inspiron i5 8g Ram 1TB HD
I am trying to install Safari for leopard.I can download the dmg package,and it says installed successfully, but after restarting it is not in applications.How come?? Any assistance gratefully received Van

Have you tried moving it manually to your Applications folder? Where is it now? Just drag it and drop it in the Applications folder. When you open it, right click on the dock icon, select options, select "keep in dock".

That's part of the problem, after it says" successfully installed " I can't find it.

It would have been helpful if you had mentioned that in your original post. Ok, take a look here: /Users/your user name/Library/

Is anything there?

Also look in: /Volumes/MacIntosh HD/Applications/

If it installed properly, it has to be in one of those two places. Actually, it should be in both places.

You stated that you installed Safari for Leopard. Which version of Safari did you install?

since im new and curious. how come safari wouldn't be on there already when leopard was installed?

Edit: um when i said curious i meant about mac computers.

Updating Safari is a reason to download it ;). You're right, it's there but it may not be recent.

van - it should be in your Applications folder. Have you run Safari and checked the version (Safari > About Safari)?

Go up to the left of the menu bar / safari / about safari


The latest is 4.05

It just came out , so just go to the APPLE in the left of your menu bar /software update

That will check for the Apple Updates for you
