It starts up with no chime, all I get are a few strange beeps. Then it just stays on the gray apple logo screen. No progress bar. Please help, all my music is on there and I really need it back.

Those beeps are what in the PC world are known as POST codes. It means something is not right.
Did you install any memory lately? Any other cards or peripherals? Try re-seating all your memory and see if it helps. Check the battery.
Try starting up with an install cd/dvd and see if it will start.
Unhook everything except the mouse and keyboard and start it.
Zap the pram. Start up holding the command-option-P-R keys.
(running out of ideas here)
