Hijacked mail addresses

Hi,
This is the first time Iv used this site. Someone or some jerk has hijacked my aol mail account and sent out incorrect mail to all my mail addresses. I need advise on how to correct this issue and if there is a good software to prevent this in the future. Please help.

Access your account at the server (AOL.com) and change your password to a strong one. Your password was likely compromised and someone is using your account to send out Spam. Or, delete the account with AOL and create another.
