MBP - Upgraded Video Card or Not?

I am considering buying my first MBP and have been debating the upgraded 1GB video card or the 512 one. Anyone have any experience or insights into this decision and what I would be giving up. I am not a huge gamer by any stretch but occasionally play a few games. I plan to hook up to a thunderbolt 27in display. Will I run into max resolution issues? If I add another thunderbolt display in a daisy chain config will I need the upgraded video card?
