I had a custom PC built for me a while ago, but once I got my Mac I stopped using it completely. Now, I'm no expert on computer assembly, but since you can make an external hard drive with relative ease(link), and considering that a DVD/CD drive is hooked up the same way, it seems to me you should be able to just plug the CD drive into one of those enclosures and be done with it...
Is this possible? Will this work?

Thanks!

yes and yes!!!!
what you need to do is go to a computer store of some sorts and p ick up an external cd enclosure. the differences between cd/dvd ones and hd ones is a big hole in the front to allow the cd's to in/eject

Great, thanks!

I might as well pick up two, since I have a 200gig hard drive from that same computer. Thanks again!
