I'm a new Mac user and I purchased a used dual 2.3 GHz Power PC G5 with 2gb of RAM. It's currently running 10.4 and I'd like it to upgrade the OS to 10.5.

My question is... what is the latest OS X version I can install on this machine and how do I perform an installation which removes 10.4?

Thanks in advance!

The latest OS version you can run on a Powermac G5 is OS 10.5.8. Install disks can be purchased via e-Bay. There is no special procedure to get rid of the OS...the new OS install will overwrite it (via the install options).
