I'm trying to understand what you wrote, please correct if I misinterpret what you stated...

You're asking about buying iPhoto, and then if you can copy photos to your Mac from a flash drive or SD card? If that's what you're asking, the answer is yes.

I didn't say anything about an SD or a flash drive at all. I just want to simply get my pics off the chip, and send them somewhere. Thanks.

Yes, well I said I was as luddite, and I meant it. Chip= The little card(?) that records your pictures that you take out of the camera to stick in the side of your ( my) Imac to transfer it to your desktop.
Thanks. God! ( Most) technical folks seem to think everybody gets all the computer jargon. I remember carbon paper and reel to reel amswering machines.

Yes, please describe what you're calling a "chip". That's why I asked you about a SD card or flash drive because we have no idea what you're referring to as a "chip".

That's an SD card - which is what I asked you about in the first place. And if you're trying to be amusing, we are not impressed.

That's new stuff there. I remember wire recorders.
Remember reel to reel recorders also.
Never seen a reel to reel answering machine though.

And, as stated above, that would be a SD card.
