Hi,

I would like to use my g5 (osX 10.3.9) simply as a monitor for my new macbook. Is this possible? If yes, how?

Thanks,

You can't use the iMac as an external moniter for another computer.

Actually it is kind of possible:

But you can't just plug in your Macbook and have it act as a regular screen unless you buy additional hardware such as the elgato eyetv 250 that will act as an (analog) video input for your mac.
