I have a teacher at our school district who upgraded her iPad to iOS7. She says she did not set a passcode but somehow one is there and she can't get passed it to access the iPad. I am not sure what to tell her. Can she call Apple and have it removed?

I believe those options do work with iOS 7 as that kb was updated after it's release.

However, won't know till she tries them.

She had to have set up a passcode at some point in time, I'd suggest she try phone number, SS #, address, birthdate or other things she may be in a habit of using.

If no passcode was ever set for it there is a possibility that a student se up a passcode. I've met students in the upper elementary grades who know how to set the passcode. I can also tell you that once you know where the passcode settings are it an be set quickly - about a minute and a half if the device is not being slow that day.

The Activation Lock is not set by default on iOS7 so it is possible to get past this through iTunes.

I agree. She had to put something there or it would not be an issue.
