I want to update to the ios 4.3 system and loose the jailbreak feature. How do I do this correctly. I read a lot about preserving baseband but can I just hit update and be ok?
As the owner of a jailbroken phone have always been under the impression that simply restoring the phone and updating to the latest firmware undoes the jailbreak.
However, sometimes parts of the jailbreak remain. I had a jailbroken 3G and one of the apps I had on it was "Make it Mine" which allowed me to change the "AT&T" label next to the signal strength to my name (or anything else I wanted it to say). When the phone started giving me trouble I decided to restore it. After restoring the jailbreak was gone, but the carrier name was still, "Paul."
For some reason that little piece was not erased in the restoration.
