Routine maintenance

Ok so after driving myself nuts with a booting issue that I resolved with the help of my TC backups I was wondering if and what type do maintenance should be performed and how often. I have a mid 2011 iMac with a 1tb hd.

Should I repair permissions on a regular basis ? Verify the hard drive? Thanks in advance

Run the free OnyX maintenance and cleanup program every so often. Some folks run it every three months, others more often. Make sure to read the instructions and help file.

Not a lot of maintenance is really necessary. I do more than I need to. But I don't repair permissions unless there's a problem that I think might be helped by that action.
