Hi.
I have a Macbook pro (5,5) 13" I would like to connect to a Samsung TV (UE40D5005). Does anybody know how I do that and get both picture and sound?
Sorry, but you should check which MBP the op has. Per their post, it is the 5,5. That model does not have a thunderbolt port. It is an '09 model and was discontinued spring of '10.
The thunderbolt port was not introduced until this year's models.
And the MBP mini displayport did not support audio until the April '10 models.
You may want to check out the first post in the link I provided above.
I have the earlier MBP 10.6 Snow Leopard, (Got it in '07, the one with the removable battery..) I'm trying to do the same thing as the OP, would I have to get the that thing in the link above? or is there a wire of some sort that I can connect it to? Somebody told me I needed a VGA or something Wire which I did but I still can't connect it to my TV. Anymore info would be greatly appreciated!
bobtomay thanks for the link. I got it working perfectly with a converter from the mini displayport to HDMI and getting the sound through a mini-jack to mini-jack cable, so actually quite simple ones I got it set up
