secure empty trash in 10.5.8

Hi ,i did an "archive install" and as a result aquired a previous systems folder.
I will hang on to this a while but at the time found i also had two other from 2010 -2011.
I put them in the trash to delete them to free up space, unfortunately they started to "secure empty and it is taking forever as there are more than one and half million files.
Already going one day.
Is there a way to stop the secure trash and empty normally?
Also these two folders are using a whole load of GBs.

can anyone tell me how to empty my trash i've alt clicked and secure trash together and unchecked empty trash securely but the popup still says i don't have permission to empty the trash i've restarted the mac with the usb in to no avail i've even tried to download iEmpty but that won't work because it may harm my computer i can't think of any other way
