I have a PowerBook G4 1.33 Ghz with 768MB of RAM. Is it normal for mac os x to be using 5GB of VM with only 5 relativly small programs open?
page ins/outs is 97167/3000.

Thanks in advance

Jon

Ok I just restarted my computer and it is still up at 4.5 Gigs.. so i've come to the conclusion that I'm an idiot :) the virtual memory in the activity monitor refers to the amount that os x has made available... I thought that is how much was actually being used. so I have nothing to worry about and you can ignore this post. Thanks

Jon
