Which games are worth getting for OS/X? I'm not talking about bootcamp - just any games that will work without windows.

The Alice thread has me curious - I see a Mac version of Doom 3 - but I have Doom 3 for the PC already so I assume this is different?

Anyway, curious as to which games I can play without windows and where to get them.

Thanks

Thanks for that link. I'm not a big SIMS fan - more into fighting monsters. :)

Too bad it takes a very powerful system to run that, and it has to be on windows, unless you have an xbox 360.

You know what makes me mad, pc users think there are no games for mac.
There are alot of games for mac, the reason there are so many PC games is because alot of them are crappy, but for mac there are only good ones.

My $0.02.

Kicking Monster Butt - WoW definitely...some alternatives to WoW:
Oberin - Mac Only (!). Free
Shadowbane. Free. Download the '15 day trial' and you actually get software updates to the free, full version.

If you're a sci-fi fan, check out Vendetta Online.
Those of us old enough to remember the "space pirate capitalist raider bounty hunter" game "Elite" and it's now-cheesey vector line graphics will love this. Same idea, but WAY cooler and internet play. $10/month.

Yeah, Halo's been out for a long time. Used to do LAN games all the time with my buddies at college.

Otherwise there always is:

Starcraft and Broodwar expansion pack (download the OS X installer from blizzard). The only negative is the screen reolution for the game is only 800x600 I think. If you can live with that it's great.
www.blizzard.com

Also from Blizzard is Diablo 2 + Expansion (Download OS X installer), Warcaft 3 + expansion pack also from Blizzard

Age Of Empires 2 Gold and 3 and Age Of Mythology are nice too as said above.

Breakquest is a little updated version of brickles. Worth a play.

Enigma is an excellent Oxyd clone. Very challenging at times. Great to let off a little steam.

Check out www.freeverse.com It has a heap of great games.

Marathon 1-3 with AlephOne works on OS X. A great way to relive a classic.

Super Collapse 3. A great puzzle game. I recommend this one.

Battle For Wesnoth. A turn based combat game. Not my favourite thing in the world, but you might like it.

The Ur-Quan Masters. A strange game about protecting Earth if I remember correctly.

Pocket Tanks Deluxe. I recommend this. It's basically an artillery clone but with tanks instead of castles. But has so many added weapons, it's so much fun. Honestly.
