This is probably a daft question but I'm wondering if it is possible to copy an application I have on my MacBook Pro onto my iPod Touch?

I'm not sure which version iPad it is but it was bought in around 2009 - the software seems to be 5.1.1.

The application is something I bought and is on a DVD which I installed on to my laptop - I would like to be able to use this on my iPod whilst out and about as the app I bought from iTunes is not nearly as good as the one I have on DVD.

I hope this makes sense and that some nice kind person(s) is/are able to help me.

:)

Not possible. Your Mac uses and runs on OS X, mobile devices use and run on iOS. Two different operating systems. Check with the developer, perhaps there is a similar app for iOS.

Thanks for the reply - thought I was being a bit hopeful.

:)

..and liberal with your usage of iPod Touch, iPod and iPad in one post..:)

But yeah apps can be targeted to just iPod Touch/iPhone, just iPad or work on both. Apps for OS X are just going to work on the right version of OS X(and in most cases above)..
