I have inherited (literally) a Macbook Pro (17 inch). It was dropped by it previous owner. The screen no longer works, but I can use an external monitor. But that's not the problem I'm seeking help with. Another problem, and I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue, but I will start here, is that when I press the 1 (one) key, it will not type the 1. Instead a chirp comes from the speakers. If I type Shift-1, that works. So, it's not the key itself. Also, (as you can see), I am typing 1's, the 1 key on the external keypad works. Also, the 1 key chirps with either the laptop keyboard or an external wired keyboard.
Anyone have any idea what could cause this? Or better, how to fix it?
