I have a MacBook Pro 15" unibody running snow leopard with windows 7 installed on a separate partition using boot camp. This had been working fine for a month or so but recently after some updates were installed it would not boot. If I select the windows partition in the start up screen it will show just a blank black screen without even the blinking cursor and will not respond to anything unless I hold down the power button to turn it off.

I'm pretty sure the update is causing it to screw up but I'm not sure why. Any help on how to fix this would be awesome. Thanks

If you have not made a backup of your Win 7 installation, you might be able to recover by doing a repair install. See the following LINK for step by step instructions.

BTW, Windows 7 includes a very good built in backup program that even makes an image of your installation to an external drive. Recovery is accomplished by using the original Win 7 DVD.

Regards.
