I'm looking at getting a 2011 Mac Mini Server.

I've got a 2010 Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard currently.

Can I use the Time Machine backup from the Macbook Pro to set up the Mini Server?
I want to transfer over all the stuff from the Macbook Pro to the Mini, and then sell the Macbook Pro.

Will there be any issue's with this?
Will the Mini allow a Non-Server Time Machine backup to be used in the initial setup in Migration Assistant?

Thanks

You dont sound as if you need the server, so you could just buy it and download and install the standard Lion OS, then use migration assis to bring over your old account.

The server version of OSCX should be able to use migration assist (never tried) since it is basically OSX with some extra server bits included,

Getting the Server model so I can streamline things at home. We have 4 Mac's at the moment, +1 more for the new Server.
Hopefully it will work OK. Anyone else got any idea's?
