Hi guys,

My mac book is hooked up to the modem wirelessly, the modem is tethered to the time capsule, this is connected wirelessly to two airport expresses.

My hope was to take the internet signal from the router and use the airport expresses to relay the signal to the distant part of the house (my apple TV box is about as far away from the router as possible!)

I initially thought that the internet signal was carried automatically over a network but now know that this is not true.

My question: How do I set this up? I've heard a WDS set up might work but all of the instructions I've found are not for OS X Yosemite. In fact I can't even see WDS settings when I open up AIrPort Utility.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

(PS - please don't assume I have any knowledge here. I'm a technological novice.)

Simplest answer I can think of would be a wireless booster.

It seems to me that all you have to do is check out how to use your Airport Express(es) to extend your wireless connection.

Pretty simple and yes, it's still supported with ALL the recent and latest OS X software, and Airport Utility and its Help would be another place to go.

If the problem is that your Wi-Fi signal doesn't reach quite as far as you want it to, there are two approaches you can take: Rod's suggestion of a Wi-Fi repeater/booster located somewhere short of the limit of the original Wi-Fi signal's reach, or the Powerline option of routing your Internet connection through the house wiring to be repeated by a booster on the other end.
