I have a G4 PowerBook 17" last model 5,7 bought specially to use a Classic Prog under OS10.4 (to replace a previous one I used for years and stupidly got rid of)

The OS9 prog runs fine in itself (Microstation SE 1998), but in order to create a plot file to print, it needs to recognise the Printer, which is Epson stylus P50. The printer works fine for OSX progs.

Epson give hints it may be possible to install stuff eg colour profiles for OS9 it in the System Folder, but not a driver

Is it possible to cobble something from the OSX drivers and if so where would I copy/install it

I think Microstation would be happy with a generic driver of the right vintage. It worked OK with my previous printer, Canon P4000; it just needs a Classic Print Box

I have the driver Epson P50 v6.5 which runs the printer fine in OS10.4.11 for OS10 compatible progs. Epson suggested I try the later driver v.9.31, but that won't install on 10.4.11 as the pkg says it needs 10.5 or higher

Do you actually have OS 9 installed on the machine to run OS 9 software? It was necessary when installing Tiger OS X.4 to select 'Install OS ( drivers' at the time of installation.

Yes - OS9.2 is installed and works fine……apart from not recognising the printer and thus not coming up with a Print dialogue box
