    Unhappy SeaGate hard disk
    Hi guys,

I was using my Seagate hard disk on my Macbook a couple of weeks ago and it was all working fine. I forgot to eject my disk properly one night and the next day, my hard disk was not being read at all! When I plug it into my Macbook Pro, it lights up, but there is nothing in the Finder. I have important files on my hard disk and need them urgently. SOMEONE HELP! ):

    Vithya

    Specs:
    27" iMac i5, 3.2 GHz, iPad 3, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6+, 3 iPods, Yosemite
Not properly ejecting a hard drive before removing it can corrupt the data on the drive and cause the problem you're having.

If the data on the drive is important, you can try using software to repair it. DiskWarrior 4 - The Disk Utility for Mac Disk Repair, Mac Directory Repair, Mac Disk Recovery, Mac Data Recovery may be able to repair the drive but it's an expensive purchase.

Appear in Disk Utility and is Finder Preferences > External Disks selected?
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
