wireless connection to device manager

HI all,
wow this is a new look!
I am running Maverick on my macbook pro. I have a new
netgear dgnd 3700v2 router and
a lexmark pre vail 705 printer.
I can not connect using the
ip address to either one.
I am on the net over the same
rounter . And I can access the
devices when using a cable.
any idea's
best

Mac Mini i5 (2014 High Sierra), iPhone X, Apple Watch, iPad Pro 12.9, AppleTV (4)
How are you trying to connect exactly? to do what?

Is the printer connected to the network successfully?

Is the router setup to allow configuration over wifi?
