    Specs:
    iMac i5 2.7GHz, 16GB memory, OS 10.10.5
Dual band modem/router Name and Passsord
Setting up for the first time a DB TP-Link modem router. Best option to use same name and passwords for both the 2.4 and 5GHz networks please?
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

    Specs:

?? what do you mean by best option Harry ??

I run both a 2.4 and 5GHz in my place and leave the 2.4GHz with its own Password for visitors kids and anything that isn't up to the 5GHz range yet like the printer and , so i can switch it off when i like, if the kids are playing up but scheduled for 10pm so they sleep.
What options are you looking for ??
My NetGear was easy under Wireless to set each range how i wanted

Just wondered if I can leave both 2.4 and 5GHz with old SSID name and passwor from old modem/router.

Ahh OK And yes you would be ok with that. BUT if you rest the modem/router to default settings for any given reason, you will need to change the password. I did this with my NetGear DGND4000 but all i did was added a capital letter to one of my words in the pass phrase HTH

Thanks mate. Used the existing SSID name and password from setting up older Linskys WAG120N for both frequencies.
