Is it possible to use a wired keyboard that shipped with an early (not sure of the year sorry) G5 iMac with a mid 2007 iMac?

Yes, it's possible and should work. Only the later model wired aluminum Apple keyboards require special consideration as to which version of OS X they're compatible with.
