MacBook 10.5.8, Western Digital HD, ThermalTake Blacx, "Disk Insertion" Error

I have a Macbook and have used a Western Digital MyBook external to store a lot of my data. The harddrive recently broke, the USB connection on the external case broke. The harddrive seems to be completely fine, it's just the external piece attached to make the drive inside the external function. So, I purchased a ThermalTake Blacx to attach the harddrive to my MacBook. When I connect it, I get the Disk Insertion error stating that the drive cannot be read. This makes little sense, as the drive itself has been used by this same system for a year or more. What can I do to remedy this?

You need to do some troubleshooting -
Try another drive in the Blacx, and
Try your drive in some other enclosure.

Remove the drive and use one of these to attach it to your MacBook.

I don't have another SATA drive unless I remove the one from my old PC and try it. Considering that it was never formatted for Mac and this one was, I can only assume it's not going to be any more compatible.

I JUST bought this ThermalTake. I don't want to buy more stuff, I want to find out why it won't work.

If you don't want any advice, why ask the question here?
Computers aren't magic - you need to do some troubleshooting to figure this out.

Not rude at all, but the two suggestions are, "try another drive," which is illogical; the ThermalTake is the only difference now, so that is logically the only possible issue.

However, this is what it's made to do, so I'd like to determine how to make it function. I don't want to buy something else that'll likely provide the same issues. I want to make this set-up, which by all good reason should work, work.

I asked on the ThermalTake forums, but their forum seems to be very slow, and most questions there are only followed up by the OP adding more information.

I removed an NTFS-formatted SATA with content on it from an old PC I have. It reads fine, so I guess it is the drive... but the drive shouldn't be damaged, the issue was just the little USB connector added onto the internal SATA to make it an external.

I got the new replacement external harddrive from WD. I was curious, and worried about getting the content off the old drive, so I removed the new drive from the addon board and hardware (power, mini USB, etc) and used it on the OLD drive.

The old drive works!

So, I took the NEW drive, the replacement, brand new from WD, and attached it to the Thermaltake Blacx. SAME ERROR MESSAGE.

It appears the Thermaltake doesn't like these WD drives, which makes it useless for me. Either way, I can't back up the content from the old drive to the new one.
