DVD burning is loud

just started burnin a DVD and this is loud


Mac =
Dec 2006
24" iMac
2.16ghz
2gb ram
superdrive

Is this normal?? i mean this thing is working (i think) but it's obnoxiously loud. pretty sure i burned CDs on here in the past (been a long time) and it didnt sound nearly this bad.

can it be fixed? is it normal?

The drive may be getting ready to die. But for now as long as it's working, leave it alone. Swapping out a SuperDrive in an iMac is no fun.

aw mang, thats not a good sign.

i can barely handle figuring out how to burn convert and burn these feckin files, let alone rip this thing apart and replace a drive.
