Portable Hard Drive Recommendations

Hey I'm looking to get a new portable hard drive to back up my computer, probably like 1 TB in size. Anyone got any good recommendations?
I've noticed some say that they're "for Mac," does that really matter or have any benefit?
Thanks for the help

The portable hard drives which say "they're for Mac" are already pre-formatted to HFS+. But it doesn't matter as you can reformat any drive to HFS+.
My recommendation for a nice durable portable hard drive is the "Mercury on the go" sold by OWC. Take a look here. These drives are a bit higher than some others but they're top of the line.
The OWC folks deal exclusively in Mac computers and are highly rated by most of us here in this forum.
