Hi - noob on here and first post.

I need a sturdy cooling stand for my powerbook G4 15". I'll mainly be using it on a desk with a 22" monitor plugged in for graphics/photography work. The option to carry it in my laptop bag would be a bonus too but isn't essential.

I've seen loads on the market - some with fans, others without. I'm guessing overheating on the mac laptops isn't so much of an issue as with PCs, but advice is appreciated. I'll be doing a lot of work in photoshop with multiple layers so keeping the laptop as fast as possible and therefore cool when on a desk is my main concern, at least until I can afford to get a desktop machine at a later date.

thanks all :)

I agree with Noxian. I'm also using a Griffin. They're sturdy and seem to keep the machine cooler by allowing air to flow freely around and under it. Another advantage of raising the machine off the desk is it somewhat protects it from nasty spills of coffee, coke, etc.

Regards.
