in general, I am dissapointed with this new OS

--If I let my MBP running overnight, i mean I let it sleep when i go to bed, the day after, it runs fine but when I want to restart, it can not, I just see the icon spinning hours...I tried to let it hours because I want to know will it restart or not but it was NOT.
The same problem when I tried to shutdown.

--Can not use Secure empty trash, this problem I have already posted, sorry if you feel annoy i repeat this. When I use secure empty trash, it is always stop at 3 or 5 items, and hanging there. The only option I could do is force quit.

--The last problem I got just now is with Time machine, it is start backing up like normal, and I am not surprise about this but this time it took like 4 hours. after going out have dinner with my friends, I came back and it is still running. I tried to wait 1 hour more but useless. I can not stop it either.

I plug the cable of the back up driver out and do a restart but like i said ...spining. So far, I think this is just a few problems that I got and i do believe there are BUGS more. I hope apple will release the update soon.

the first problem may be due to hardware. Was this also happening with tiger?

Secure empty trash takes long anyway. this is because its overwriting the file your deleting.

I don't have leopard, but I've heard that the first backup can take a very long time. It depends on how much space your internal HD is taking up.

I don't understand your last issue. Are you trying to restart from the backup drive? If so you need to let the backup finish first (give it at least 24 hours). If the backup drive is a USB drive, your never going to be able to start from it since Macs can not boot from a USB device, only an internal drive or an external Firewire drive will work.

Your problems sound odd. I've had no problems with Leopard. Time Machine copied 30gigs of date for backup across in 10 minutes and I could use my Mac no problems whilst it was working.

to the one who has no probem while running Leopard, lucky you. Just want to make it more clear that I made a test that I put 5 files in the Trash, they are only MS word files and each file is no more than 10 kb.

After I hold the power button down to let my mac totally shutdown, then everything become like normal meaning I can restart or shutdown without pushing the power button. This problem happens after a while I play game, watching movies, listening music.

Of course I don't want to restart from backup drive, I plugged it out because I was hang. Well, I don't think it need to take 24 hours to do the back up because I just earsed my external drive and make a clean back up again with 22,7 GB used of my internal HD and it took less than 2 hours.
