i have a very strange problem with my G4 ibook - the amount of hard disk space said to be available is varying massively, for no reason that i can fathom. today, when told i had no space left, i cleared about 2 gig of space - but about an hour later, for no reason whatsoever, i had no space again. this has been a recurrent problem, and i keep deleting stuff, only to have to delete more shortly after.

any suggestions? i just checked my firewall and saw that it was off temporarily, no idea how that happened. is it possible i've been trojaned, or is there any other rational explanation - or, even better - a solution?

Have a look at this app. Disk inventory X. It should tell you what is eating up your hard drive space. And you can delete the offending files.
