I am new to the world of Mac and I have tried a search of the forums but did not really find the answer I was looking for. On my new Mac Pro, I am considering changing the 500 gig drive the operating system is on to a 150 Raptor. In the PC world it is considered better to have your OS & apps on one drive and your data on the other drives. Does this hold true with Macs?

So I have a new WD 150 Raptor sitting on my desk. Do I make it my operating system drive or not?

Thanks for any help.

Your Mac's Specs
Gateway2000 P5-60. 66Mhz and 128 MB RAM.
I've noticed a speed increase with even just partitioning my HD to be a little bigger than the OS just to decrease boot time (which is now about 15 seconds). Seems to work for me. I'd wait to see what other say just in case.
