Safe to delete apps?

Hi,

Just wondering... I have a few apps that are in the Application folder that I don't use, specifically one in the Utilities folder like "Mac Mini SMC Firmware Update". If I don't use these apps personally (ie. conciously run), and I don't visibly see them run (like iTunes when Front Row is executed), can I remove them? Or should I leave all apps alone unless it's something more simple, like Microsoft Office or Firefox?

Thanks for the help!

I'd just leave them...

Unless it's something obvious (e.g. iSight updater, Wireless mouse updater) that you know you won't be needing.

The utilities take up nearly no space and might be required to change something you need in the future.
