Imaging emacs-losing preferences

Hi! I use the disk image part of disk utility a lot to create images for my computer labs at 5 different schools. The problem I'm having is that when I image the machines, all emacs, whether using Netrestore or Disk Utility, I lose certain preferences that I have set. I lock the desktop and other files, but after the machine is image, they are not longer locked. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd try using a different imaging software:

According to this article, not all tools (including apple's built-in ones) correctly preserve certain data when creating images.

Personally I'd give Superduper a whirl (for what you need to do it would be free) and see if it works properly with that.

Thanks for your suggestion! I'll certainly try that and see if it resolves my issues.

P.S. I love Munich, attended the Goethe Institute there, and have come back to visit many times. Vielen Dank!
