iPhone ringing on my MAC

Today I was sitting at my desk, my iPhone rang and I picked it up, but then my MAC started ringing and said I had a call (a big delay).

This never happened before. I looked it up and saw an article from October 2014 so apparently this options has been around for a while. But today is the first time it happened.

The only thing I have done differently is updated the OS on my iPhone. Did that turn FaceTime on on my MAC??

2022 Mac Studio M1 Max, 2023 M2 MBA
What version of iOS do you have now and what version of OS X? If both are recent (iOS 8.2 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite), then when the two devices are near each other, you have handoff in play.

it's always been delayed look at microsofts xbox one Skype as a example Skype on my mac connects and answers calls right away however 4 minutes later the xbox one says i have a call and starts ringing
