Hello, friends!

I recently bought an iMac G4 from eBay and I was wondering which OS would be best for the machine (Tiger or Leopard). It's not going to be used as a main computer, I only got it for nostalgic reasons. I guess what I would like to accomplish with this iMac is minimum internet browsing, the typical e-mail checking, YouTube and perhaps a little social media such as FaceBook.

The machine currently has Tiger installed.

Also, would Google Chrome even be possible to install?

What is the speed of the CPU? If it's over 867 Mhz Leopard will run but if not, stick with Tiger. Tiger is probably your best bet like Louishen said.

Thank you for that website, it is most usefull!

The speed of the CPU is at 700Mhz, I think I'm going to stick with Tiger.

Makes not much difference - Tiger is as far as you can go with a 700MHz processor natively.

Tiger is really great, just make sure that a PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processoris running at 300 MHz or faster
