Hello all! I'm using a MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 running OS X 10.6.8. I freelance, and recently I brought my MacBook Pro on-site somewhere where I had to turn on Airport to access their network. Of course, I forgot to turn it off when I got home, and I just discovered that it's been on for a month. I don't use a wireless network at home, and the way I discovered that Airport was on is that I started up my laptop with the ethernet cable disconnected, and a list of wireless networks in my neighborhood came up... Yikes, says I. I looked in my menu bar and the Airport icon was dimmed, but I checked the Airport menu, and sure enough, Airport was on, so I turned it off. My question is, when I have Airport on, can others see my computer the way I could see those other networks in the list? Could anyone please tell me where I can find the settings to specify that no one can see or access my computer when I have Airport on? Thank you in advance for your help :)

Yes I do have the Airport Express .
Even if other can see my wireless , it is protected with a password .
So you need to know the password to get acces to my wireless .
I think it have a range of about 200 meter .
