I want to delete a template that I created in Excel 2011

When I open excel it shows the template under My Templates in the Workbook Gallery as an option to choose.

When I search for the file on the HD by its name it does not show up. It does not show up when search for all files with .xltx extension. I also searched for the "My Templates" folder but nothing came up.

I looked under Library: Application Support: Microsoft and there wasn't anything there for excel or templates and no file called "Office".

How do I get rid of this template?

Are you using Lion OS X 10.7.X? If so, your user Library folder is hidden by default and will not show up in a search.

Otherwise the folder and template you're looking for is here:

MacIntosh HD/Users/you/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Templates/

If you're using Lion, do this:

Open your Finder, click on your user name, click on "Go" from the top menu, now click on "Go to Folder" at the bottom. Type in "Library" and then follow the path I wrote above.
