Power Mac G5 DVI-VGA adaptor

Hi I have bought a power mac g5 recently. When I got it I had discovered that it had advi socket. I bought the adaptor to convert dvi to VGA and hooked everything up. When I turn the computer on you can hear everything but when you look at the screen it's in sleep mode. Plz help what have I done wrong Many Thanks......

G'day and welcome to the forums.

VGA not the best. Can you not connect display direct to DVI port? Perhaps the video card has ADC (Apple Direct Connect). Has the gfx card worked at all?

Basically the screen is a VGA only. I have bought an aftermarket dvi-VGA adaptor. The screen is in sleep mode.
