Hey.

I just upgrade my iMac to 10.3.4 and ever since I have had problems.
When OS 10.3.4 started for the first time I noticed that the finder was opening and closing itself and I had no shortcuts to CDs or Hard disks on my dekstop.

The system seems very unstable and has shut itself down a few times but hasnt done so for a while now.

I am still having the problem with the finder opening and closing itself. I am unable to see the finder window I can just see it opening and closing from the dock.

Is anyone able to help?

(I upgraded my firmware before I upgraded the system)

I'd advise you click on the Apple Menu, Software Update and get your system up to 10.3.9 - that was the last iteration of Panther (10.3) and is very stable.

Ok I have tried updating but still have problems, the top apple bar does not even appear when I start up the mac now unless I open an application such as safari.

The finder is not opening and closing it self any more but I am still unable to open it.

Any ideas?

Try repairing permissions beforehand, and then install the combo update recommended above, and then repair permissions again.
