vsftpd: /var/run/vsftpd/empty deleted, password not accepted
Using mac mini with osX lion. I am new to mac, experienced with linux.
1)When attempting to open ftp I get the following error message:
    Code:
500 OOPS: vsftpd: not found: directory given in 'secure_chroot_dir':/var/run/vsftpd/empty
This is solved by creating the directory, but it is deleted when I reboot.
    How can I prevent this?
2)Given that the 'secure_chroot_dir' is created, when I log in with the
user and enter the password for the user the password is rejected. I am confident
that I am using the correct password for the user. What is the solution?
Do I need to add an user list somewhere? I use vsftpd on linux and have not
    had this issue?
    thanks

    Did you try those suggestions?

Dynamically creating the folder when vsftpd is launched?

No. Time did not permit. I can recreate the folder any time....
However, let us address the second part of the problem:
the user password is not being accepted. Why?
