I'm guessing he doesn't have an external mouse. My advice: get one. They're dirt cheap now, even optical ones.
My Expose setup:
Middle mouse button: All Windows
Top Right Corner: Desktop
Top Left Corner: app windows

Personally, I am waiting for an inexpensive 2 button Bluetooth with scroll wheel. I already have USB optical mouses all over the place that I happen to travel, plus one in each bag.

My settings are:
Lower Left: Desktop (D)
Upper Left: Application Windows (A)
Upper Right: All Windows (C)

The letters are little stickers I put on the frame to try to help remembering. I haven't figured out a logical approach to setting the other options, although I think the F Keys are set for something.

F1 = all windows
F2 = app windows
F3 = hide all

my hands usually resting on that part of the keyboard cause i use command+tab and command+` a lot. that, and the games i play a lot use w, a, s, d for movement since i use the mouse for aiming and shooting and such.

Inexpensive + Bluetooth = I hope you're patient.

Ok, how about reasonable? $69 for Apples 1 button, no scroll wheel mouse is a joke! The only other BT mouse device I have even seen is the Keyboard and mouse combo sold at BestBuy for $150. When that mouse becomes available individually, it will be helpful.

I sure hope not :( It's one thing to stick with something because it's better, but it's another if you're just plain being stubborn! Multi button mouses are (10 * (number of buttons and scrollers)) times better than a one button mouse.

I have the BT mouse and keyboard for my 12" Powerbook. If you're thinking about getting one GO FOR IT. They were $62 each with the student discount, which I'll admit is not exactly cheap, but I think that they were worth every penny. I have had my PB for five or six days now and though the touchpad is not the worst I've ever used it is nowhere near as nice as the touchpad on my former (Compaq) laptop. For me it is the perfect compromise. I get the extremely portable laptop when I want to go somewhere and I have a full keyboard with number pad (a big plus to me) and a nice mouse with no wires/adapers. I regretted ordering the mouse and keyboard because I thought that I was spending too much. Now if my current set got lost/stolen/destroyed I'd have to go to CompUSA and replace them immediately.

As far as one button vs. two is concerned. I thought that a one button mouse would be the big drawback to the Mac, but I'm learning to like it just as well as the three button scroller. I like having the entire mouse to click on.

Still adjusting,
Paul

alt-tab?

I don't know about you guys, maybe your keyboard is different from mine, but I use command-Tab to switch between applications on my Mac. Alt-tab does the same thing in Windows.
