I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum, but here goes: I lose my internet connection when I recieve calls (dial up). I went into modem settings and turned on the "notify me when incoming calls" feature, but it still disconnects me. This is driving me absolutely crazy! I'll be in the middle of downloading something and lose my connection and have to start over. This is really annoying as you could imagine, so is there anyone that could shed some light on the issue here? Also, it seems to lose connection when someone is not calling as well...just out of the blue drops my connect. This, I suppose, could be understandable. However, when it logs me off and my phone rings immediately it makes me very upset. Any reasons for the feature to be not working? TIA

If you have call waiting, you will have to disable it when you are on-line. The notification of call waiting is what kick you off-line. You will have to check with your phone company on how to disable it. I don't think you can have the computer notify you of a call and stay on-line.

If you're located in the states, then you need to add "*70," to the beginning of the number you dial. That will disable call waiting and no more calls should interupt your service.

I should mention that it does notify me some of the time(like 40%). So it's not completely non functional. So, I should add *70 to the # I dial...my isp?

Yup! Make sure to put it at the begginning of the number. Let us know if that fixes your problem.
