Hi all. Recently my Imac just started this problem and I cannot find a solution to it. The volume rises on its own. At first I thought it was the keyboard, so I disconnected the batteries and the same results. Then I tried the original Apple keyboard and same thing. I cannot seem to get it to stop this problem and having the volume box open on my window at all times. My screen saver nor rest functions work any longer. Any help on this is greatly appreciated in advance.

Try resetting the PRAM/NVRAM. See the following Apple KB article. LINK

OK. The reset was the easiest to do first. Next, try this:

Open your Finder and navigate to the following file....

/Users/your name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

Copy this file to your desktop and write down where it belongs. After doing that, delete the file. Restart your machine. See if that helps.

Post back results.

Regards.
